The first hide "and skin sale held in Auckland ; this season took place yesterday. There waa, a normal supply. Best butchers' heavy ox hides'realised 9d to 9id; medium, 7Jd to 8d; light ox and cow, 6Jd to 6jd; aeoond quality, 4jd to sid. Calfskins, best quality brought 14d to 14id; second quality, lid to 12jd; faulty, meaty and ; out, 7id to lOd. For badly damaged there .'■■ was no offer. Horse hides brought from 5s to 15s each,, according' to: size . and- condition. Sheep skins, threequartcr to. full' u oolled; dried, damaged, 2id to 3d; one-quarter: to half woolled, damaged, . !
