At a meeting of the Opotiki Cnamoer of Commerce held yesterday correspondence with the Post and Telegraph Department was read in regard to the reopening of the Opotiki Post Office between the hours of 7 to 8 in the evening for the despatch of telegrams, saleoi stamps, and delivery of letters. fn« chamber is of the opinion that the tinw has arrived when these facilities sbouW be reinstated. , , The closing of the post office during these hours "for the war period was understood to have been due to the depletion of staff. Strong exception was taken to the letter from the department stating that the service could not bi remstatea.
