LADY SWIMMERS' CHAPERONES. [BT TELEOBAPH. OWN COnKESPOKDEK C.] WANGANUI, Friday. At a meeting of the Wanganui Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association, it was decided to apply for the 1324 New Zealand championships. It was also decided to recommend to the council, when selecting chaperones for lady swimmers who may be on tour, that North Island ladies be given consideration. It was contended that too much preference is given to southerners, to the exclusion of northern aspirants. There are ladies in Auckland who are not only capable managers, but have a great deal in support of swimming, and should not be overlooked. It was also maintained that the cenires should be consulted and asked for nomina. tions for charjerones and managers required for touring swimmers.
