MUNICIPAL FISH BUSINESS.
Sir, —Kindly allow me space to write on the municipal fish .business. Why should one-half of the council bo in favour of selling out, while the others are anxious to make the business a paying concern ? Only the other day it was published that the City Council of Sydney had gone into the fish trade. Prom what I have seen of the municipal fish business, and speaking from 15 years' experience, and knowing the trade from A to Z, I say that the council is disposing of a business that can be made to pay. and not only pay, but show a profit as large as the loss now shown. I am prepared to come forward for one year only,-free of any salary, and prove that such losses can be stopped, and the municipal business be made a paying concern. I can also show that I have handled one of the largest curing houses of London and of Aberdeen and Glasgow, witli success. J. F. Ca:cx. 41, Mountain View Road, Mornin^side.
