A Gazette notice announces that the New Plymouth Harbour Board notifies that two conspicuous wooden trarezoidai-shaped black and white diamond-chequer-painted beacons, each of which is surmounted with an ovalebaped disc, have been erected on the southern shore of the harbour. Between tne hours of sunset and sunrise the front beacon, which is situafed on the beach, will exhibit at a height of 20ft. above M.H.VV.S. a fixed red light visible over an arc of 10.5deg. The rear beacon, which isi situated near the obelisk, will exhibit at a height of 50ft. above M.H.W.S. a fixed red light visible over a greater arc.
