Kent presidingIt waa decided to affiliate with the, NewZealand Hockey Referees' Association, Messrs. W. J, Organ and L. H. Norton were appointed delegates representing Auckland. It was decided to draw the Auckland Association's attention to the fact that, certain teams bad defaulted without notification, and to request stringent measures to prevent such action in future. .The examiners reported the following classification passes:—Messrs. The Australian hockey team opened their New s!eaiand tour against Nelson this afternoon, at the Botanical Reserve, in ideal weather. There was a large attendanceAfter a strenuous game the match ended in a dran-, A goals each. It was the first game in which the visitors had played together, and they gave a good exhibition, snowing clean and clever stick work. Some good individual players axe among them, especially Abel, who played a great game at centre-half. The ground was in gcod condition, but it pould clearly b«- seen that the Australians ivera used to playing on a smooth surface. With one or two mcie games they should develop into a fine combination. It took some time for the teams to settle down to their game. The score at half-time km 2 goals all.
