FORD WORKS CLOSING.
150,000 WORKERS AFFECTED. Australian and N-Z. Cable Association(Reed. 8.5 p.m.) NEW YORK. Aug. 26. Mr. Henry Ford has announced that he will close his plants on September 16, owing to the coal shortage. This will jffect three manufacturing plants at Detroit and assembly plants throughout the country. Fifty thousand employees will be thrown out of work at Detroit and 100,000 elsewhere.
