MONEY FOR SCHOOL SITES.
THE MINISTER'S POLICY. CBY TELEOEAPH. —SPECIAL BEPORTES.3 WELLINGTON. Saturday. Replying to a question put by Mr. S. G. Smith (Taranaki) in the House of Representatives, the Minister tfor JEJducation, Hon. C. J. Parr, said it was, not correct to say that there was no money available for the purchase of school sites and the extension of sites. But the financial stringency had compelled him to say that ho would buy land only when it was .immediately required. Cases had been brought before him where the land certainly would be required in a few years and he had been urged to make the purchases now. He had to reply that the limited amount of money at present available must be conserved for cases of immediate necessity. He was prepared to consider urgent requests.
