CONFERENCE IN AUSTRALIA. t AID FROM GOVERNMENT. A. and N.Z. MELBOURNE. Auff. 20. The Australian Research Council considered and heartily supported the proposal to hold a pan-Pacific scientific oonfere nee in Sydney and Melbourne next year. The Commonwealth Government promised £5000 toward the cost. Professor Sir Edgworth David stated that an invitation to attend had been accepted by the United States National Research. Council. Arrangements were being made to send general invitations. The meeting discussed the scope of the conference, and decided to add the officers of the Council of Research to the existing pan-Pacific oonferenoe in order to make the necessary arrangements.
