STRIKE OF FOOTBALLERS.
NORTHERN UNION DISPUTE. (Received 5.40 p.m.) Router. LONDON, Aug. 17. A strike among professional footballers is threatened. Tho Rugby League Players' Union has passed a resolution that if tho League Committee refuses to receive a deputation relative to a demand for better conditions, the members will withdraw their services at the opening of the season.
