*»- MESSAGES TO AMERICA. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 5.40 p.m.) LONDON. Aug. 17. The Federal High Commissioner, Sir Joseph Cook, has strongly protested ■ against the action of the Pacific Cable Board in agreeing to the suspension of | deferred messages owing to cable interruptions. He urges that the Imperial cable was primarily intended to ensure Imperial communications. Therefore he objects to its being overloaded with American messages.
