TREATMENT OF DISEASE.

LECTURE ON MODERN METHODS. An interesting lecture on " Modern Methods of Treatment" was given at the Auckland Hospital last evening by Dr. C. E. Magujro, medical superintendent, to members of the St. John Ambulance Brigade Nursing Division. He referred to the value of radium in the treatment of diseases, especially cancer, and laid stress upon the need for more radium at the hospital. Psychotherapy treatment by mental suggestion was a very wide subject and gave great scope for " quacks," but it was most useful in the hands of trained men. It was used successfully in treating war neurosis- After the lecture he showed lantern slides and gave a demonstration of the uso of the illuminating screen and stereoscope. The members of the brigade were shown over the massage department.
