The annual report to be presented at the annual meeting .of members of tho-Otahuhu Trotting Club on the ' 25th inat., records another eucceeaful year, said then proceeds:—While the, majority of the clubs, 1 racing and trotting, have suffered from largely decreased revenue from all source's, particularly the totalisator, the Otahuhu 1 Trotting Club has been more fortunate, and has had a slight.increase,of dk'6 l Joo on the ngurea of iaet year. wnich were very much anead of any previous year. Imnng the season just concluded tb.e club gave in. eta_e_ tne handsome sum of £13,950 fox tour days' racing, which amount wte well in excess of tnat required by the regulations. The committee strongly recommend the same progressive poiicy to their successors, and hope to bos the stakes kept well ahead of the required minimum. On roterence to the proht and loss account, it * 'ill be seen that after all charges there is «. net proht of £1819 18s 9d, of wbich £1800 has been, carried to the capital account. In addition to this there has been distributed in various forms the sum of £358 16s 8d in donations, and a considerable sum had to be expended, which it trusts will not be a recurring charge in saving the club's identity. Under all the special circumstances, the committee considers members have every reason to feel satisfied with the present state of affairs. The committee can with every confidence congratulate you on the sport which has been provided at the club's meeting during the year. In every case the competitions have been clean and wholesome, and the ever increasing attendances vouch for the popularity of _ the club. The committee ia seriously considering the selling of some 50 acres of the club's property not at present required for the course and grounds, and a ready sale for the splendic. sections, if they are offered, may be anticipated. The following gentlemen have been nominated to fill the vacancies on the committee: Captain K. Gibbons. Messrs. J. Wilson, H. A. Lloyd, A. E. Watkins, D. lieslie, and T. Marks. This beine the required number no election will be necessary, and they are duly declared elected. , - , " , , The balance-eheet shows that the capital account stands at £18.600. and there is a mortgage of £16,000 on the club's property. The club's land at Otafruhu is valued at £34,000. and the improvements there stand at £1524 13s Id. The club has cash on mortgage to the amount ot £1550; cash at call. £3150: war loan subacriotion, £1000; and £2133 17s 2d with the National Bank of New Zealand.
