The question of giving preference to .British goods was discussed by the Ham- . ilton Chamber of Commerce last night* when a Wellington firm wrote asking the chamber to urge the importance of trading withia the Empira. \ n Mr. A. M. Bisley declared emphatically that British goods were far superior to American articles, and he thought 'a*| farmers and townspeople should be urged to support British industry. By doing this they would be helping themselvesi by ? providing work and money for the British workmen to buy our produce. Other members stressed the immensely greater value for money in English than a foreign goods, and it was decided to urge on even' section of the community the desirability from every standpoint of purchasing British-made goods. . ~' It waii also decided to forward a copy of the letter .to all branches or th» Farmers' Union;,
