UNEMPLOYED SEAMEN.
Owing to their inability to secure work either afloat or ashore, many seamen are sa*d to be in distress in Wellington. It has not been found possible to absorb all the unemployed sailors at the relief work for seafarers in progress at Anderson Park, and consequently there are many who stand in urgent need of help. Forty men are beingfed daily in the shed provided by the Harbour Board, and 36 men are sleeping there.
