Mr. Alfred Jolly, who has been appointed general manager of the Nationa). Bank of New Zealand is well known m banking circles here. He has also had five or six yearn' experience in banking, as a member of the stivff of the National Batik of Australasia, in Melbourne. Mr. Jolly takes the place of Mr. D. W. Duthie, who recently vacated the position owing to illness. Mr. Duthie's services are, however, not lost to the bank, as he has been 'Appointed an advisory director of the bank in New Zealand. Mr. Jolly has been connected with the National Bank for the last 28 years. During the last 12 years he has been on the inspecting staff. He was for two years chief inspector. Mr. Jolly s appointment will give general satisfaction, for h9 was well known as a banker of experience and ability.
