SEVEN YEARS IN GAOL.

William Marr, an elderly man, charged with attempted carnal knowledge, was found guilty in the Supreme Court today. The man had a bad record, having been sentenced to ten years and seven years respectively for a similar offence. The Judge said the accused was not fit to be a,t large, and was one of the worst criminals. He was sentenced to seven years' hard labour, and declared an habitual criminal.
