A circular was received from the Auckland Committee of the Russian Famine Relief Fund. The council decided to invite the residents of this district to subscribe, to the fund; Tenders were received for the supply and delivery of electric transformers required in connection with th» linking np of the Thames municipal service with the Horahora electric supply, and the tenders of Metropolitan Vicßere Electric Oowpiiay anil J. v Burns and Co. at £203 and £390 respectively were accepted, The borough engineer refloated tSiat the plana and specificati'ms were Dow ready for the i first three contracts of intercepting and outfall sewers in connection with the □ew sanitary scheme. The estimated cost of the three was £13,500, the completion of which would allow of the whole of the gravitation area being connected up, covering: a length of two miles from Hape Creek to a point 1000 ft, beyond low- water mark.
