REDUCTION DEFEATED, A. and N.Z. LONDON. June 27. In the House of Commons the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Sir B. Home, accepted an amendment to the Finance Bill halving the duty on intoxicants supplied to clubs. Subsequently an amendment, was moved to reduce the duty on beer from £5 to £3 10s a. barrel. Sir R.
