SLIGHT DAMAGE IN OFFICE.

MOTOR-CYCLE IN FLAMES.

An outbreak of fire occurred atpremisoa in Courthouse Lane, occupied by tha Auckland Co-operative Egg Society, Ltd., at about a-quarter past six o'clock last evening. The City Fire Brigade quickly answered the call, and soon extinguished the flames. The outbreak had been caused by a kerosene heater in. the office setting fire to papers on a desk. The damage was not serious, being confined to office sundries. The buildingis owned by Messrs. Leighton, Ltd. The insur-., ances were not available last night. A fahte alarm of fire at Messrs. A- JEntrican and Company's store in Customs Street was received by the City Brigade at 5.35 p.m. Flames issuing' from the chimney of the railway gas manufacturing plant, which is situated behind tSo, store, were responsible for the alarm. A motor-cycle and side-car caught fire yesterday afternoon at 3.15 p.m.. in Allendale Road, Mount Albert. The Mounfc Albert Brigade was immediaitely summoned, and quickly extinguished the outbreak. About £10 damage was done to the side-car. The insurance on tha cycle and car was £100. . The third outlwak for the day attended by the City Brigade occurred at the premises of Messrs. Whitley and Company, sanitary woodwork manufa<turerß, in Place, off Wellington Street. The call was received at 11.39 p.m. A few feet of flooring were badly. burned, bnt there was no otirer damage.
