THE COST OF TRAWLERS.
INQUIRIES IN ENGLAND.
INFORMATION FOR COUNCIL.
A question in regard to the inquiries concerning trawlers to be made in England by Captain H. H. Sergeant on behalf of the Auckland City Council was asked by Mr. H. N. Bagnall at the meeting of the council last evening.
In reply to Mr. Bagnall, the Mayor, Mr.' J. H. Gunson, said he simply took advantage of Captain Sergeant's visit to England to ask him to make inquiries regarding the class and cost of trawlers, in order that the council might have information which it might or might not want.
Later Mr. J. A. C. Allum asked how the fish department was getting on. Was there a loss or a profit?
The Mayor: I will see if we can get yon a statement at an early date.
