NEED FOR ABSORPTION.

CHRISTCHURCH. Friday. " That this conference i s of opinion that the immigration of ex-service men and their families is far too important to this Dominion to allow of its stoppage, even temporarily. It therefore urges the Government to make ample provisions for absorbing Imperial immigrants by providing a progressive scheme of agricultural training and land settlement, and also by. giving encouragement to new industrie* which will be the means of absorbing in- - dustrial workers." This was a resolution * carried by the provincial conference, of th» Returned Soldiers' Association, to-day.
