TROUBLE IN CANADA.
DISPUTE OVER LAND. Australian and N-Z. Cable Association(Reed. 11.10.) BRANTFORD (Ont.). May 12. A serious situation has arisen at the Six Nations Indian reservation, as the result of the Government ousting an Indian squatter from reservation lands which the Government has reserved ior ex-service men.
Indian chiefs who travelled to England to see the King were told by Mr. Winston Churchill that the matter was completely in the hands of the Canadian Government. The Canadian Court officers who attempted to oust the squatter barely escaped with their lives. The Indians show an ancient deed, purporting to give them complete rights over tho reservation. The Minister for tho Interior is due to arrive hero and hold a meeting at which the Indians will receive a hearing.
