I s A claim for compensation arising out of j the loos of the sailing ship Lyman D. { Foster in 1819 was brought yesterday by < Lena Rooke, widow (Mr. Osburne-Lilly), * against G. T. NicccE and others (Mr. Bag- 1 call), owners of tie vessel, before the c Arbitration Court, Mr. Justice Frazer pre- t riding. The pfciintiff claimed damages for the death of her son. a seaman on the ( vessel, which was lost on tho vovage from r Auckland to San Francisco. The facta i wera ;-.drnitsed and the only question in- r volved was that of amount. The Court t held feat the ison had been a source of t support to his mother and sisteis, and a gave judgment for £225 and costs for i plaintiff, £100 to be paid to her immediately and the balance to the Public Trustee on her behalf.
