BELMONT CARNIVAL.

£1027 RAISED BY SCHOOL The Belmont Queen Carnival concluded on Wednesday evening with the election of Betty Endean, of Standard V., with Marie Corner of Standard HI., second. The other queens, a3 of whom made a splendid showing, were Freda Crasher, Nancy s Miller, Molly Deighton, and Acrini Simp--1 son. 1 There was a large attendance at the ■f school, where the chairman, Mr. C. Crosher, announced that £1027 had heen raised by the carnival for the purchase of an additional area for a primer school site, leaving a substantial balance for im- ' provement. On opening the sealed vot--5 ine envelopes the scrutineers announced I the following totals:—Blue, Standard V., 3 61,723 votes, £257 os 7d; pink, Standard 9!
