TE PUKE REEFS. [BY mEGRAWr-OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WAIHI. Wednesday, Some information csjicerning the development of the Te Puke Reefs Goldmining Company's property was given to-day by Mt. G. Muir. managing director, and Mr. J. R. Noble, general manager. They stated that operations were disclosing satisfactory results. At present tho battery waa crushing a daily average of about llfi tons of ore, and it was anticipated that the output would shortly be increased to 130 tons a day, whioh woidd be the full capacity of the present treatment plant, Speaking of the mine, Mr. Noble Btated that the recent extension of the drive south on Muir'e reef had disclosed the existence in that direction of payable ore, while tions in tho winzes and rises from No. 2 level on this lode, where it had previously been oxpktred by driving only, continued to prove tho existence, both overhead and underfoot, of milling ore of good average grade. It was tho intention of the management to sink a shaft on the flat at an early date with a view to working the lode at a creator depth. When this had been put down 200 ft a drive would be projected to internet the ore body. Another development work contemplated in the near future waa the further exploration of Fleming's reef, which was thai main lode when the field was firßt exploited years ago. and which varied in width from 67ft' upwards. The clean-up for March was nearinc completion.
