SWIMMING.

CARNIVAL AND HARBOUR RACE. The Ponsonby Swimming Club's carnival will be held thin afternoon' at the Shelly Beach Baths, the first race commencing at 2.30. The annual harbour race will also be swum from Northcote to Shelly Beach. For this event nq fewer than,7s entries have been received. A most interesting programme has been arranged.

MOUNT EDEN CLUB'S CARNIVAL. The Mount Eden Amateur Swimming Club will hold the third carnival of the Eieason on Monday, March 8, at the Mount Eden Baths. An attractive programme has ken arranged, the chjef events being the {.'oyds. Auckland championship, reswim between G. R. Champion and J. Bsiwright. who dead-heated at the last carnival, and the 100 yds. primary schools' .relay for the Nicholson Shield. With a view to encouraging swimming in the secondary schools Mr. W. A. Stevenson, of Mount Eden, has donated a valuable shield, for 'ft secondary aohool relay race of 200 yds. The race should be interesting. - Tb« programme also includes ruces for juniors and eeniors of both sexes. Entries close on Monday at the Mount Eden and Tepid Bathe.
