THE LATE MR, T. PEACOCK.

LARGELY ATTENDED FUNERAL The funeral of Mr. Thomas Peaces who died on Saturday, took place at the Symonds Street Cemetery yesterday, and was very largely attended. The cortege consisted of 26 motor -cars, in addition to a motor-car laden with wreaths. The various institutions and business concerns with which Mr. Peacock had been connccted were represented, including ths South British Insurance Company, the Attend Gas Company,. the Auckland Savings Bank, the Northern Club, the ! Auckland Institute, and St. Stephen's Presbyterian Church, and tho Northern j Roller Milling Company. A very large number of beautiful wreaths were ak forwarded. The officiating ministers were the Rev. Frazer Barton, minister of St. Stephen's Church, and the Kev. h, Thompson, of Carterton. A meeting of directors of the Auckland Gas Company was adjourned yesterday " morning as a mark of respect to the lain Mr. Peacock, who had served continuously as a director for 37 years. On the motion of the chairman, Mr. J; Hi Up-* ton, the directors carried a vote of condo-. lence and sympathy with the deceased's family, and appreciation of his long and valuable services to the company.
