A message from Washington states that it has been announced that Mr. Henry Ford, the motor-car millionaire, be givon an opportunity to bid for the United States battleships which are to be scrapped. . „ _..; , , Mr. Joseph Hitner, a leading Philadelphia ship junk-dealer, estimates the junk valuo of the combined navies of the United States, Britain, and Japan, to be scrapped under the Washington agreement, at 30,000,000 dollars-rather less than the cost of one new super-Dread-i nought.
