STRANDED SCHOONER.

VESSEL UNDAMAGED.

'PREPARATIONS FOR REFLOATING. I Advice was . received in Auckland on Saturday by Messrs. Archibald and Co. from Captain Schultz, master of the I schooner Valmarie, which is ashore near I Farewell Spit, to the effect that the vessel is not in a dangerous position if the weather remains calm. She is high and dry at low water, and is undamaged. It was not thought advisable to lighten the vessel on account of the heavy class of timber she carries. She is head on to the beach, and the tides are decreasing. | Both vessel and cargo are insured, and she is now under control of the underwriters, who have sent Lloyd's surveyor from Wellington with salvage gear to refloat her. The conditions are good ] while the fine weather lasts.
