SWIMMING.

PONSONBY CLUB.

The Ponßonby Swimming and Life-Saving Club held a further series of club races on Saturday afternoon at the Shelly Beach. Baths. Chief interest contred in the final of the 220 yds, the heats of which were decided the previous Saturday. Stevens #ored a popular win, swimming well from the it mark. The 50yds olub handicap had to be swum in six heats, and the final saw 12 competitors finish practically in a lint. Following are the results.-— 220 Yds Handicap.—W. Stevens, 4s, 1; J. Hirst, 14s. 2. Time, 2m 53 $-6i. Six others also started. Won by two lengths, with a. length between second and third. SOYds Handicap.—First heat: Parkinson, 7s, 1; D, Murrell. scr. 3. Time. 54 2-ss. Second heat: C. Farquhar. le, J. E. Da.vies, 4s, dead heat, 1; H. Fnrnall, 6s, 5. Time, Farquhar 275, Davies 50s. Third heai: C McCarthy, 7s, 1 : W. Rodeers. Ba. 2. Time, 31s. Fourth heat: Iv.
