ILLICIT IRRIGATING.
WATER THROUGH FIRE HOSE.
A charge of having unlawfully interfered with the Northcoto Borough Council's watermain, was made against Thomas Beaton, before Mr. J.' W. Poynton, S.M., at the Police Court yesterday. It was stated that defendant had been tho guest of a Northcoto family who had, a strawberry garden. As it was looking very dry he obtained water for it from the street watermain. Not only did he tako the council's water, but he also used tho fire brigado hose in the process. Afterwards he had freely admitted bis offence. A fine of £2 was imposed, with £3 Is costs.
