AUCKLAND CENTRE.

The Auckland Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association met on Thursday evening. Mr. A. Twiname presiding. The statement of accounts in connection with the sports meeting at which the South African athletes competed was submii'ed by the secretary, Mr. W. Morton, and eet forth: Receipts, £379 Bs lOd; expenditure, £222 4s sd, leaving a credit balance of £157 le 6d to hand over to the New Zealand Council against the expenses of the South African team's tour. Permission was granted the University Tournament Committee to decide certain events on Easter Monday. The Cambridge Athletic Club was allotted the 100 metres Auckland provincial championship and tho one mile cycling championship. The programme of amateur events to oe run at tho St. Patrick's Day sports was approved, the Auckland officials to control the same. It was agreed to hold the Auckland provincial championship meeting at Carlaw Park on Saturday, March 11. when the individual championships and club supremacy will be decided. The events to be contested 'wore fixed as follows :-100yd6, 220 yds. 440 yds. 880 yds, one mile and three miles rune, lTryds hurdles. 440 yd« hurdles, and one and three milo walks, putting 16lb shot, throwm? 16'b hammer, throwing tho javelin, one mile relay fßßoyds, 440 yds, 220 yds and KOyds), h ; ch jump, broad jump, hop-step-and-Himn, pole vault, 100 yds primary schools, ICOyds eecondarv schools, and 880 yds primary schools relay championship (four boys each 220 yds). It was also agreed to decide the two miles cycling championship, and one and three miles cycling handicaps. A keen tfrugsle for tho club championship between University, Akarana, Auckland, Public Service. Hamilton, and Cambridge clubs is anticipated. The centre received a donation from Messrs G McMillan and Co. »o provide a special trophy for the best perfoper in the recent wW« and 220 yds North Auckland provincial championshios. J. K. Ayres-Oosferhak. by winning both races, secured the trophy, and I tooe presented with a silver cun in action to tho gold medal attached to hiß victories.
