McLEOD DEFEATS FRY.

The scores at the close of play to-day in the match of 16,000 up between C. McConachy and C. Falkincr were:—
Falkiner (scr.), in plav . . 12.000 McConachy (rec 2000) .. 9,328
Falkiner made breaks of 223 and 227, and McConachy breaks of 201 and 133.
McLeod (2000) defeated S. H. Fry (1393), holder of the title, in his heat for the amateur billiards championship. McLeod, who is an artisan, ied all the way and showed the highest skill that baa been seen among amateurs for years. It is expected that he will win the later rounds easily.
