WORKERS EDUCATION.
ACTIVITIES OF ASSOCIATION. I A note of optimism characterised the annual meeting of the Workers' Educational Association, Auckland Centre, held this week. The president, the Rev. A. B. Chappell, said that the 1921 session had been a critical period for the association, but the new and more vigorous policy of the District Council was beginning to bear fruit, and the signs for the future showed that thero was much cause for encouragement. It was confidently hoped that the now tutor-organiser would extend the association's sphere of usefulness and give it much wider recognition. The following officers were elected:— I President, the Rev. A. B. Chappell: vice--1 presidents, Dr. J. W. McUraith, Mr C. ! J Bishop; co-operated members, Hon. Oco. Fowlds, Dr. T. W. Leys, Messrs. W. R. Tuck, T. U. Wells, and G. H Wilson; auditors, Messrs. W. R. _ Tuck and A. J. Hutchinson. The election of an executive and of representatives on the [ Lectures Committee was deferred. It was ! decided to hold a picnic at One Tree Hill jto inaugurate the ooming session. A feaj ture will be lectures of topical interest. I , r,, .... ~
