STOCKS AND SHARES.
Investment stocks and Government Loan issues wero again in good demand on the Auckland sharemarket yesterday. War Loans, 1938, changed hands at £88 10s. Soldiers' Loan (bonds and inscribed) were sought at £94, holders oi inscribed asking £94 15s, bond s not being quoted. In banks Australasias were in demand at £11, with sellers at £11 ss. Nationals were sought at £5 12s, sellers asking £5 15s. For New South Wales buyers offered £35 15s, no sellers quoting. New Zealands were in demand at 47s 6d, sellers 48s. Union of Australia had buyers at £11 13s, sellers £11 15s. In insurance? New Zealands sold at 27s 3d, with more wanted at that price, sellers asking 27s 9d. There were buyers for SJouth British at 32s 6d, sellers 335. In gas Aucklands (paid up) sold at 20s 9d, with a demand for more at this figure, sellers closing at 21s. In miscellaneous lines Sew Zealand Refrigerated (conj sold at 235, late buyers closing at 12s lOd, sellers 13s 6d. In mining Grand Junctions were sought at 6g 6d, sellers 6s lid, and Waihis at 19s were wanted at 18s. The following sales took place:— War Loan, 1938. £88 10s; New Zealand Insurance, 27s 3d; Auckland Gas (paid urn. 20s 9d. New Zealand Refrigerated (con.) 13s.
