TUITION BY CORRESPONDENCE
ESTABLISHMENT OF SCHEME
An announcement that tho scheme for correspondence cesses for the children of back-blocks settlers had been established and would be in full working order in the course of the neit few weeks was. made to the Education Board yesterday, in a letter received firm the chief inspector of primary schools, Air. T. B. Strong. The letter stated that Miss J. C. MacKenzie, who had been appointed to take of tho correspondence classes, commenced duty on February 1, and was preparing instructions to parents and children regarding the work to bo done by the latter during the present year. The secretary to the board, Mr. E. 0. Purdie, stated that a number of parents in the country had applied for correspondence instruction ftfr their children and these applications had been referred to the Education Department.
