OUTBREAK NEAR NELSON.
SAWMILL BURNED DOWN.
DESTRUCTION OF TIMBER.

Bush fires started in Sherry Valley on Sunday and had reached serious dimensions on Monday. Bryant's sawmill at Till, together with stacked timber worth £500, was totally destroyed. Houses in tho vicinity of the mill ™re also endangered and tho contents were removed. Fortunately the fire failed to reach them. All the milling timber in the locality was also destroyed. Baigent'a mill bad a narrow escape. The loss is a serious one to Mr. Bryant, who had no insurance either on the mill or on the stacked timber. Information from Tui to-day states that the fines are subsiding. There is no wind and there arc indications of rain.
