R. D. Dacre, Auckland manager for Reginald Collins and Company, was today charged with soliciting and obtaining orders for liquw in the proclaimed area of Te Kuiti. Mr. G. V. Findlay appeared for the defendant, and said tho firm of Collins and Company was primarily concerned with the sale of wines rather than whisky. His client happened to be visiting Te Kuiti with a team of bowlers, and thought it excusable to try and get a few orders for spirits whilo here. He had been under a misconception regarding the law. He had made a clean breast of the matter.
