YESTERDAY'S EVENTS. [by telegraph.—press association.] WELLINGTON. Tuetdar The second day's competitions in connection with the brass band contest attracted a large number of people to the Town Hall. The morning was devoted io the Euphonium BB flat solas* The result* were as follow:—

OUIS competitors were: Wellington Patriotic 12y> Nelson Silver 127, Masterton Municipal 125. Hamilton Municipal 126. H/nvera Citizens 123, Christchurch Tramways 128. The judge, in speaking of the playing generally, said he was not quite satisfied with the standard reached. In fact, bethought it was rather low considering it was "the B Grade.
