YESTERDAY'S EVENTS. [by telegraph.—press association.] WELLINGTON. Tuetdar The second day's competitions in connection with the brass band contest attracted a large number of people to the Town Hall. The morning was devoted io the Euphonium BB flat solas* The result* were as follow:—

The judge, in speaking of the playing generally, said he was not quite satisfied with the standard reached. In fact, bethought it was rather low considering it was "the B Grade.
