The statement was made yesterday that s proposal was discussed at thy Suprwr s Council whereby Britain would r a .;:J; France's indebtedness to her on cor.ditioL that France remitted a similar amount off the German payments. At the moraing session it was stated that Britain was ready to forego her 22 per cent, share of the instalments due from German'' in favour of France, Belgium and Italy. A prominent French Minister, after quitting tha meeting, remarked that Britain's great sacrifices forced everyone to pause ,ir.d reflect. Despite M. Briand's opposition th 6 Supreme Council resolved to summon German representative!! to Cannes to assist in the discussion of the reparation question.
