STOCKS AND SHARES.

Business on the Auckland ehareinarket yesterday showed a slight improvement. In Government lines Inscribed Stock, 1927, sold at £9110 a, there being further inquiry at £91 ss, and no sellers. Soldiers' Loan (inscribed stock) changed hands at £92 10s, with buyers left at that figure, sellers £92,155. All other loan issues had strong demand, but holders showed little inclination to sell. In banks business was done in Australasias at £11, more being wanted at £10' 16s, without sellers. Nationals at £5 16a were looked for at £o 12s 6d. New Zealanda had buyers at 47s 3d sellers 48s, In insurances New Zealands hid sale at 28s 3d sellers closing »t that price, buyera at 27a 9d. South British were in demand at 34s 9d, sellers MB. There Wre buyers of Standards at 17s 3d, no sellers responding. Prices of other investment lines showed little alteration. In miscellaneous stocks Auckland Tramways (ordinary) were done at 14s 9d, and Wilsons Cements at 14s 6d. In mining there were sellers of Waihis at 19s 9d, buyers 19s 3d. Grand Junctions at 8s 2d had buyers at Bs. The following sales took place:—New Zealand Inscribed Stock, 1927, £91 10s; Soldiers' Loan (inscribed stock), £92 10s j Bank of Australasia, £11; New Zealand Insurance, 28s 3d; Auckland Tramways (ordinary), 14s 9d; Wilsons Cement, 14s 6d.
