The Berlin correspondent of the Daily flews states that the far-reaching social :onsequences of " Black Thursday," when he mark suddenly enhanced in value by nearly a third, are slowly being realised. Reports from Leipzig, Hamburg, Frank!ort, and elsewhere indicate the wholesale muffing out of mushroom banks founded io satisfy the public's mania for speculation, Scores of new millionaires are ruined, and the life earnings of many small investors disappeared in a night. Exchange in Berlin was quoted at 840. to the pound sterling to-day, as against 780 yesterday.
