The inaugural meeting of tho Empire Forestry Association at the Guildhall wao attended by Lord Novar (formerly Sir Ronald Munro-Fergusson, Governor-Gen-eral of Australia), Sir James Allen (High Commissioner for New Zealand), Mr. M. Shepherd (Acting-High Commissioner for Australia), and t'he Agents-General ,for Queensland and Tasmania.

A resolution was passed in favour of a determined effort toward the extension of an Empire-wide constructive forest policy, under which tho Empire's sylvan resources will be scientifically conserved and prudently exploited for the mutual benefit of tho peoples of the Empire. Mr. E. L. Wood, Under-Secrcary for the Colonies, assured the promoters of tho desire of tho Colonial Office to support tho association in its educational work, aiming at tho co-ordination of forestry development throughout tho Empire. Mr, A. A. Ashbolt, Agent-General for Tasmania, pointed out that tho association intended to make its educational work practical. It was decided to limit tho forthcoming exhibition of tho Empire's timbers at the Imperial Instituto, to timbers available in commercial quantities at prices that would competo with foreign timbers.
