SENTENCE FOR EMBEZZLING. A. and N.Z. MELBOURNE, Nov. 17. Mr. Lucas, chairman of tho New Guinea Expropriation Board, is at present visiting Melbourne. Ho suggested that the rumours of embezzlement in Now Guinea wore greatly exaggerated. The board engagod a staff of 150 men, in connection with which thero wcro some irregularities, I entailing five prosecutions, one man being ' sentenced to eight months for embezzling £800.
