DOMAIN IMPROVEMENTS.
CEREMONIES THIS AFTERNOON The winter garden in the Domain will be formally handed over to (he Mayor for the citi/eus of Auckland at 2.45 p'm. today by Mr. (ieorge Elliot, who was president of. the Auckland E\hibitiuii of I 1913-1914, from the funds of which the i building was erected. Invitations have been sent out to representatives of local bodies and other official persons, and the general public will, it is hoped, also attend the ceremony. After tlie acceptance by Mr. Gunson of the winter garden building those present I will proceed to the new road, which j passes through the Outer Domain, around the cricket oval and onto Park Road fori the formal opening of that thoroughfare The new road, which will be a great con- ! venience for light traffic, has been con- j structed at a est of £1200, which sum' was provided on the City Council's esti- ' mates this year for the* purpose. In I connection with its formation the council has also had considerable Work done on the site of the Davis Cup tenuis "round to include which the boundaries of the cricket ground have been esUuded.
