WORLD'S LAW COURT.
ELEVEN , JUDGES ELECTED. LORD FINLAY INCLUDED •A. sad N.Z. GENEVA. Sept. 14. The following have been elected to the Court of International Justice:—Senor Alt amir (Spain), Senor Alvarez (Chile), Signor Anzilotti (Italy), Senator Barboza (Brazil), M. Debustament (Cuba), Viscount Finlay (Britain, also nominated by Australia), M. Lode (Netherlands), Mr. Oda (Japan), M. Weiss (France), M. Huber (Switzerland), and Professor J. B. Moore (United States). Four deputy judges are still to be elected. Lord Finlay, the British Judge elected to the Court of International Justice, was Lord, Chancellor from 1916 to 1919, Ho was born in 1842 and graduated as M.D. at Edinburgh when 21,' but left medicine for law. Ho is a recognised authority on international law and was one of the panel of jurists that drew up the constitution of the Court of International Justice. • Mr. John Bassett Moore, the American elected, is Professor of Interactional Law and Diplomacy at Columbia University. He has served cm many international commissions on behalf ; of tne United States and is a member of $6 Permanent Court of Arbitration at The Hague. He is 61 years of age.
