OUTRAGE IN SILESIA.
KIDNAPPING BY GERMANS.
BRITISH OFFICER HELD. A- and N.Z. LONDON, Sept. 6. A message from Beuthen, in Upper Silesia, states that as a result of the kidnapping of a British officer on the staff oi the Inter-Allied Commission, the plebiscite police at Oberj.logau arrested five members of the Selbstschutz (self-defence) Society, which is implicated in the kidnapping.
■The Selbstschutz Society has informed the British officers that unless its five members are immediately released five other officials will be kidnapped as a reprisal.
