DISCHARGED A PEARiFLE.
PELLET BREAKS A WINDOW.
A nnmW of minor cases were dealt with bv Mr. J. W. Poynton, S.M., in th« Police Court yesterday. A fine of £5 was imposed on N. E Hodges for being in possession of an unregistered firesjm. He was also convicted and ordered to pay costs for discharging pi pearifle.> without reasonable cause. The evidence showed that defendant had discharged the rifle" near his house. One of the pellets ricochetted, and entered a neighbour's house, passing through a window. When interviewed by a constable, defendant admitted firing half-a-dozen shots. The firearm had not been registered. Defendant did not appe»j\ but had written to the Court, admitting firing the pearifie.
