JAPANESE DOCK STRIKE.
AN APPARENT COLLAFSE. BLOW AGAINST UNIONISM. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed- 9.30 p.m.) TCKIO. July 27. The strike of the Kawasaki dockyard workers at Kobe has apparently ended in a crushing defeat of the strikers. Thirty per 1 cent. of the workers have returned to the shops unconditionally. The remainder are expected to return shortly. These workers are of the most skilled class in Japan, and were in a favourable position for enforcing their demands. Their defeat is considered to be a blow against the right to organise in unions.
